From the school
Approximately 45% of parents attend school functions such as Open House, IB Open House, Hospitality and Tourism Open House, Magnet School Night Orientations, Freshmen Orientation, Senior Awards Night, GEAR-UP and AVID family nights, presentations by performing arts groups and athletic competitions. Newsletters are sent to parents every other month and contain information about school news, student achievement and recognition and upcoming activities. Parents volunteer their time to assist with fall registration preparation, large school mailings, magnet programs, the Career Center, fundraisers and serve as chaperones. Parents are given access codes to access their students' grades on Edline. Alcatel and the school website are also utilized to notify parents of important dates and/or events.
