From the school
The following are ways our school communicates with the parents and community:
- Newsletters are sent home five times a year and specific topic letters are mailed home as appropriate.
- Bi-monthly event calendars are sent home.
- Monthly academic progress reports are given to students.
- The school utilizes the InTouch communication system to enable parents to access their child's records, grades, attendance and current progress online.
- An autodialer is used to apprise parents of their child's absences.
- The school Web site is maintained and kept up to date.
- Parents are able to communicate with the staff through e-mail and phone calls.
- All teachers are required to provide parents and students with the contact information.
- Parents are encouraged to e-mail the principal, other administrators and/or counselors.
- Monthly open parent meetings with the principal are held, with meeting times offered both the morning and afternoon.
- Special events -- like open houses, sixth grade parent orientation nights and back to school fairs -- are held to recognize student achievement and give parents a chance to interact with staff.
- A guest speaker program and a career fair are held each year to involve the community in our school, and parent volunteers and chaperones are encouraged.
