From the school
Our Parent Connection Cadres Mission Statement goal is to involve parents and community members as an integral part of the education process at Elaine Wynn Elementary School and to reinforce parents role as their childs first and most important teacher. The school communicates this mission with families in a variety of ways. Teachers provided bi-weekly progress reports. Our school newsletter was published six times this year containing information about school news, student achievement and school activities/events. Award ceremonies were scheduled at the end of each trimester to celebrate student accomplishments. Planners were provided for fourth and fifth grade students to communicate nightly homework assignments. Report cards were issued three times a year, and whole-school parent conferences were held in January and February and as needed. Parent surveys were distributed at the Title 1 Parent Center, Parent Connection Workshops and through the students. The Cadre used this information to schedule events. PTA members and families from the Title 1 Parent Center met with administration and the Wynn Leadership Team to provide input on the expenditures of the site Title budget and revisions to the School Improvement Plan.
