From the school
Parent involvement at Clarence Piggott Elementary School is encouraged in a variety of ways. Parents are invited to serve on various committees such as the Library Committee, School Generated Funds Committee, and the School Crisis Team. Parent membership is solicited throughout the school year. The PTA meets on a monthly basis and all parents are invited to attend. School and classroom newsletters are distributed frequently to keep parents informed on curriculum and school events. Progress reports are sent bi-weekly to keep parents informed of their child's progress. Fourth and fifth grade students use daily planners to help students stay organized and provide two-way communication with parents. Parents can leave a voice mail for teachers anytime during the school day. Parents are invited to school events such as Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, and trimester awards assemblies. Parents are also provided opportunities to participate in and attend school functions such as the Community Picnic, Field Day, and the Talent Show.
