From the school
Silvestri Junior High School's administration and staff communicate with parents and the community in a variety of ways. Our Edline Internet site provides up-to-date information on student academic progress and attendance. Daily announcements and other pertinent information are posted to the site. Additionally, parents and students are able to e-mail teachers directly regarding concerns or questions. A computerized autodialer is used daily to report attendance to parents and to contact homes with important testing and school information. Parent informational meetings are held each month during the day and in the evening. During these meetings, the principal discusses pertinent issues with parents and answers any questions they may have. Quarterly newsletters are issued and postcards or flyers are sent home as reminders of upcoming events and important announcements. Sixth grade orientation is held in April and August in order to introduce students and parents to Silvestri and to provide a smooth transition from elementary school to junior high school. Student/parent recognition breakfasts are held at the end of each quarter to recognize student performance.
