From the school

Written communication with parents and students include bimonthly newsletters with a school calendar, school-wide events, tips for parents to promote reading, math, writing and science achievement, flyers to announce special events and safety notices, individual classroom newsletters and an updated school Web site. School-wide events are also communicated through the Frias PTA and Southern Highlands community newsletter. Parent surveys and parent informational meetings are conducted periodically to discuss issues affecting the social and academic lives of children attending Frias E.S. The PTA is phenomenal and their events promote family and community involvement, which include first day of school kindergarten parent support, Open House Ice Cream Social, Dads & Donuts, Moms & Muffins, In-n-Out Burger Night, Movie Night, Bingo Night, McDonald Night, Ornament Night, Valentine's Breakfast, school carnival, Reflections, Boxtops drive and Ident-A-Kid program. Parents are invited to attend three trimester award ceremonies, Falcon of the Week, Pioneer Day, Math Night, Science Fair, Literacy Night, winter and spring choir and play performances, kindergarten promotion and fifth grade D.A.R.E. graduation and fifth grade promotion.
