"Activities were held during the school year to provide information to families regarding school curriculum, classroom instruction, and student achievement. Such events included open house, family involvement nights, parent/teacher conferences, fall festival, Asian Pacific Fair, Young Authors Night, Nevada Reading Week, science fair, Kindergarten Round-Up, Parents and Pastries, Earth Day, Track Out Assemblies, daily opening ceremonies, second language for adults, parent club, field day, Deckers Beautification Day and the volunteer appreciation breakfast. The Decker Dispatch was distributed on a weekly basis with information regarding school news, student achievement and upcoming events. Parents assisted in classrooms and chaperoned field trips. Students were exposed to out-of-state academic experiences in California.
