From the school
"Parent and community involvement is a priority at Bunker. The Bunker PIE team meets monthly to plan and support school-wide initiatives. Parents received a weekly Friday Folder and a monthly newsletter to keep the lines of communication open. A school-wide website and individual teacher websites were created and updated to provide parents with easy access to events and happenings at both the school and classroom levels. The marquee was maintained on a regular basis to advertise major events at the school. A Parents as Academic Leaders (PALS) grant was written and awarded to increase community involvement and included programs such as Bodies by Bunker, flag football, running club, parenting classes and Sight Word Soldiers. The school provided a Back to School night, field day, carnival, family nights, academic nights, holiday performances, and awards assemblies to promote a strong home-school connection."
