Circus Vargas

Circus Vargas raised their tent in the parking lot of the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas during the holidays. This isn’t the circus you might remember from your childhood, though. It’s PETA friendly. There are trapeze artists, contortionists and death defying stunts, but no animals. The circus continues in Henderson at the Galleria at Sunset parking lot Jan. 4 through Jan. 9.

   We were going to go to the Circus Vargas in the Galleria mall parking lot with my 4 year old son. Until we found out that there were no animals. Instead, we went to the lion and dolphin habitat at The Mirage and my son and I came away with a wonderful memory of emotional connection with a wild animal that has left us with a deeper understanding and love for animals in the wild. The dolphin smiled at us. A circus is not a circus if there are no animals.
