  • Mayor envisions subterranean walkway/mall to Symphony Park

The Plaza Hotel & Casino recently announced that it would be closing its 1,037-room hotel and portions of its casino in early November to make much-needed repairs and renovations to all guestrooms and hallways. Mayor Oscar Goodman has said he would like to see the property imploded to make the new Symphony Park more accessible to the 18 million Fremont Street Experience visitors. The neighbors across the street, the Golden Nugget, just recently spent over 300 million for their recent upgrade. With the state the Plaza is in, the space is in desperate need of something; will the 20 million dollars they plan on spending even scratch their run down carpets surface?
