To Who It May Concern,
My son went to this trial with Steven's dad to support Steven today. I am not writing to say what Steven did wasn't wrong but I am going to defend Steven about all the lies that were told about him. He spent alot of time at my house in the past and I know him very well. Steven used to skateboard with my son and hang out at my house. I am very stricked with my kids, so the kids that would come to my house needed to follow my rules(no drinking, drugs, saying bad words, or fighting). If they didn't they were asked to leave. Steven was the only one of my sons friends that would bring others to my house and tell them that I am nice but to obey my rules. He made a very very bad mistake that has cost him a long time in jail, but Richard wasn't innocent at all. That boy ( God rest his soul) was not nice and threaten many kids in our neighborhood with either gun threats or physical beatings. For petes sake he lived with Steven, they were friends. Like I am saying I am not condoning what Steven did but I hate lieing and can't believe someone can take a oath under God and try to get away with it. I would hate to be them on judgement day. What has happened between Steven and Richard has helped me look at criminals, our court system, government, and people in general in a whole new light.I thank the Lord in heaven that I have Him and God knows the TURTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was at the court myself along with my wife to support Scott, Stephanie and Scott's Mom who were all there to hear the sentencing of Stevie. I have known this family for almost 13 years. My children grew up with Stevie and Stephanie. It was a terrible tragedy what happened last Oct 8th but please keep in mind there are always three sides to every story. Very few people know Stevie's side and fewer still know the whole truth but I know one certainty as fact. Stevie until that day never made a violent act in his life. He's not perfect, but he's not the "Animal" that the DA painted him as today.
My family's thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hogue family. May Stevie has the strength and courage to come through this and when he returns to society I'm sure there will be nothing but positive results.
