Executives hope CityCenter’s $40 million modern art collection will draw a significant number of tourists who travel the globe to view major works of art. The works aren’t merely window dressing, but are a key part of the sales pitch for CityCenter, envisioned as a kind of idealized urban playground and one company’s attempt to establish a cultural gathering place like those in other big cities.
