Mary Page, treasurer of the Lyon County Museum in Yerington, discusses "hair wreaths," like the one on the wall, which were a Victorian era custom for mourning, Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. The hair of deceased loved ones was taken and woven into wreaths. This one by Margaret Nichol was completed in 1860. It was loaned to the museum by area native Elouise Kettenburg.
