Students listen and take notes during the Hispanic Citizens Academy at the Pearson Community Center. Metro Police launched the Spanish-speaking program in September 2007 and now are training North Las Vegas Police to launch their own program. Any Hispanic citizens, regardless of legal status, can attend the Hispanic Citizens Academy, which aims to inform them of their rights and promote crime-fighting awareness.
