This is Sheriff Armadillo (I made up that name, by the way). He's on display at a travel center off Interstate 10 on a lonely stretch between Tucson, Ariz., and Las Cruces, N.M. "That's a good idea," an elderly lady commented when she saw me taking photos of the little guy. I wonder now if this sheriff was for sale. How much would I pay for him? -- Leila Navidi
