New laws ae not needed; If they would just enforce the policies and laws that are already in place (Ex: background checks at the point of purchase) then everything our Executive level is trying to push through would already be accomplished. Just like the immigration issue that got out of hand when unchecked.
President Obama's Executive Orders are based on the meeting with plenty of people interested in freedom, the 2nd Amendment and preservation of life.
But, Mike, you are right. Congress will not pass any legislation that restricts military grade assault weapons. The NRA bought and paid for these politicians and they will never bite the hand that feeds them.
The word "gun" could be replaced with ANY other word and the sentiment expressed in this cartoon would still be true.
