When Robbie Bina skates onto the ice at the Orleans Arena a video plays of the under-sized defenseman pretending to punch out his much taller and much heavier line mate Chris Frank. The comical introduction is vintage Bina -- an adored teammate who is as valuable on the ice as he is in the locker room

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Missed opportunities coupled with a struggling power play unit doomed the Las Vegas Wranglers Saturday night. The Bakersfield Condors used two late goals by Dan Sexton to hand Las Vegas its first road loss of the season 4-2 in front of 5,368 fans at Rabobank Arena.
Seemingly beaten on the play, Wranglers goaltender Michael Ouzas flashes the leather to rip the puck right off the blade of the stick of Condors winger Stephane Goulet to preserve a 2-1 lead in the third period at the Orleans Arena on Friday night. At least the Las Vegas Wranglers are consistent -- consistently inconsistent that is. For the third consecutive weekend, the Wranglers answered a Thursday night loss with a Friday night victory as Las Vegas narrowly edged the Bakersfield Condors 2-1 in front of 4,062 fans at the Orleans Arena.

When Ned Lukacevic lights the lamp for the Wranglers this season, he'll be scoring a goal for more than one team. The immediate impact of the forward's goals will be felt on the scoreboard, but the lasting impact will be felt in the hungry stomachs of kids across the Las Vegas area. Thanks to a charitable proposal made during the team's recent trip to Three Square Food Bank, Lukacevic will donate $10 for each goal he scores this season.

For the third consecutive Thursday home game, the Las Vegas Wranglers lost by a margin of at least three goals as this week the Bakersfield Condors snagged a 4-1 victory in front of 3,274 fans.

Don't take offense to the defensive specialist's desire to leave Las Vegas -- he just wanted to see the world. Bakersfield Condors forward Adam Naglich returned home to Las Vegas Thursday night at the Orleans Arena, in front of friends, family, and against a Wranglers team that tried to sign the first-year pro.
