The UNLV interim athletic director will be expected to do everything within their power to improve football ticket sales, maintain good relations and be helpful to every coaching staff, then step out of the way when the full-time hire comes in. That all sounds just fine to Tina Kunzer-Murphy, whom the university announced Monday would fill the position effective July 1.

Rebels women's basketball: Kelli Thompson has the skills to build off last year's 22-10 season, but only if she can get a group of young players to follow her lead

There are two ways to look at the UNLV women’s basketball team’s 2011-12 season. The most obvious, and probably the most accurate, is to view it as a success. UNLV went 22-10, its first 20-win season since 2003-04, finished second in the league and went to the postseason for the first time since 2006.
