The mistakes already in the books don’t matter with a one-point lead and 3:22 on the clock. The plays, or errors, still to come will determine the outcome, and with the game hanging in the balance it was the 10th-ranked Aztecs who went out and took the victory.

The Rebels went cold down the stretch and No. 10 San Diego State turned a tie game with 3:30 remaining into a 73-64 victory tonight at the Thomas & Mack Center.

An upset tonight over San Diego State in a pivotal home regular-season finale would likely clinch third place for the Rebels and give them momentum heading into Saturday’s game at UNR. But a victory on senior night won't come easy, especially since UNLV will be without the services of one of its best rebounders.
