While the top five teams in the Sun’s top-10 rankings aren’t changing this week, the same can’t be said for the bottom half of the rankings. Del Sol, which started the year No. 3, is out of the rankings after consecutive defeats, including being shutout 34-0 last week by Liberty.

Someone may need to pinch the Desert Oasis football team to let them know this isn’t a dream. Desert Oasis won its biggest game in school history Friday night, riding its option attack to more than 400 rushing yards and a 42-19 victory against visiting Durango.

Prep football:
Cheyenne and Desert Oasis highs last week were supposed to give the state’s best football teams a competitive game. Instead, they lost by a combined 105-6. Yes, Bishop Gorman and Palo Verde are that much better than the rest of the teams in their league.
