Desert Oasis finished off its regular season with arguably the hottest streak in Las Vegas. Desert Oasis beat Clark 51-8 on its Senior Night Thursday. Over the last three weeks, Desert Oasis has outscored opponents 158-36.

Boulder City is surging to end the season. The Eagles have won two of their last three — and challenged Basic in a loss in between the two victories — to make a four-game losing streak a distant memory. Behind 147 rushing yards and 10 tackles from Tyler Washburn, Boulder City routed host Clark 33-7 Friday night.

Close losses are every bit as a painful as lopsided blowouts, and they usually stick with a football team longer. Clark coach Don Willis would testify to such. Although the Chargers lost four games by double digits last season, it’s the three defeats by a touchdown or fewer than Willis can’t get out of his mind.

Moapa Valley coach Brent Lewis said running back Zach Waite had played at less than 100 percent with an injury the last few weeks. By Friday night, Waite was back in top form. Waite rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown to lead Moapa Valley (3-3) to a 36-33 victory against Clark (2-4).
