Finally. Coby Newton’s 3-yard touchdown run with 45.3 seconds remaining Friday lifted Centennial to an emotional 24-20 victory against Palo Verde in a rematch of last year’s Sunset Regional semifinals. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, the Centennial players celebrated as if they had just won the state championship. Some even had tears in their eyes.
