The Legacy High football team on Thursday night pulled off the biggest upset of season. And, even though it’s still September, the Longhorns’ effort against No. 2 ranked Arbor View in the “Battle of the Bulls” game likely won’t be matched. Junior running back DeMichael Walker scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:36 to play in third quarter and the Longhorns’ defense did the rest in a 7-0 victory.

In preparation for Friday night’s game against Coronado, Arbor View coach Dan Barnson noticed something on film. He saw Coronado’s offense perform its best when it got onto the field in short intervals and was able to establish a pace.

The Las Vegas area’s last remaining major uncommitted Division I football recruit for the class of 2013 has found a home. Elijah George, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound offensive lineman from Arbor View, verbally committed to Oregon Sunday.

high school sports: Flag football makes its debut as a district sport to give girls another winter option
When a player from the Cimarron-Memorial High School football team jumped offsides Monday during the first half of a game against visiting Arbor View, the referee reached for his flag but decided not to throw it for the obvious penalty. It was the first week of games, and for most of the players, it was their first time playing the sport — a fact referees considered with their restrained penalty calling.

high school football: Bulldogs follow Coby Newton's lead to hard-fought 14-9 victory over rival Arbor View
Centennial rode that motivation and Newton, who had 30 carries for 115 yards, to one of the biggest victories in school history. Not only did the Bulldogs snap the Aggies' nine-game wining streak, they ended their previously undefeated rival’s season prematurely. Centennial 14, Arbor View 9.

One by one, the Arbor View seniors fought their way through the chaos that comes along with notching the biggest win in school history to stand in front of their teammates. They yelled over the noise coming from the fans surrounding them that rushed the field, thanking each other and sharing what a 35-29 victory over Palo Verde meant to each one of them personally.
