With inquests stalled, Metro Police releasing internal deadly force reports

Metro Police will start releasing use of deadly force documents that have never before been public, Sheriff Doug Gillespie announced today. The reports are being released as coroner’s inquests into officer-involved shootings have been stalled because officers are challenging changes to the process they say make the inquests adversarial.

More than three-quarters of a million Latinos now live in Nevada. The growth of the demographic has translated into more Latino business ownership. Hispanics own 8 percent of the state’s companies, and their 18,000 businesses generate $3.2 billion in sales and receipts. They employ tens of thousands of workers.

Nevada continues to lead the nation in the percentage of home sales tied to foreclosures, new data show. Foreclosure data provider RealtyTrac reported Wednesday that during the first quarter of this year, 12,405 homes sold in Nevada were in the pre-foreclosure process or had already been foreclosed on.
