The Killers are an alternative rock band that originated in Las Vegas.

The Killers, former manager agree to dismiss lawsuits

Former Killers manager Braden Merrick filed suit against the band in February 2006, but today it was announced that suit and The Killers' own action had been settled confidentially.

Early career: The band was formed in 2002 after Brandon Flowers answered a classified ad placed in the Las Vegas Weekly by Dave Keuning. Flowers and Keuning then brought on Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. The foursome then began playing in small Las Vegas clubs. The group attracted the attention of a UK representative of Warner Bros., and eventually signed on with British indie label Lizard King (later Marrakesh Records).
Breakthrough: In England, the band recorded its debut album in 2004, "Hot Fuss", which won acclaim and sold 5 million copies. The band's second album, "Sam's Town," released in October 2006, sold more than 1 million copies by the beginning of 2007.
Top Hits: "When You Were Young," 2006, No. 1 on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks, No. 2 in the UK, No. 14 on U.S. Hot 100; "Read My Mind," 2007, No. 1 on U.S. Hot Dance Club Play Chart and No. 8 on Modern Rock; "Human," 2008, No. 1 on U.S. Dance, No. 6 on U.S. Modern Rock.
Notable The band has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards and several other major music awards. Among the awards: BRIT Award for Best International Album for Sam's Town; BRIT Award for Best International Group; 2005 MTV Video Music Award for Best new Artist; 2006 MTV Europe Music Award for Best Rock Group.
Recent: The Killers opened the newly remodeled Joint at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas on Friday, April 17, 2009.
