We all know Rita Rudner’s pretty funny. We’ve got her stand-up, television and movie work to support that. What I didn’t know is that she’s also kinda—hot.
This ‘Room’ should have a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign

Harrah’s headliner Rita Rudner and her husband, Martin Bergman, have written a play. And it’s having its world premiere at the nonprofessional Las Vegas Little Theatre. A wisp of a sitcom, “Room 776” is not nearly ready for prime time. Or Sunday matinees.

Fame, fortune, two thousand shows, five books, a play, a husband, a daughter ...
Thursday, June 5, 2008
It’s already been a hectic year for longtime Strip headliner Rita Rudner. Her first stand-up special in a decade was a fundraising coup for Las Vegas PBS in March, and her fifth book, a collection of humorous essays entitled I Still Have It … I Just Can’t Remember Where I Put It, hit shelves May 13. This month Rita Rudner: Live From Las Vegas airs nationally and will be released as a DVD—Rudner’s first—on June 24. If that wasn’t enough, the comedian/screenwriter/novelist/actress adds “playwright” to her resume when Room 776, co-written and directed by her husband, Martin Bergman, premieres June ...

Comedian Rita Rudner’s life is a smorgasbord of entertainment — novels, essays, plays, films, comic strips and talk shows, in addition to her stand-up engagement at Harrah’s.
An extremely full plate

When she's asked if she has a writing routine, Rudner says, "No. I can't because I have a daughter and a dog on diuretics who has to be walked at least 12 times a day and a husband."
John Katsilometes on how Rita Rudner's personal touch helps fill the showroom at her new haunt: Harrah's
Sunday, October 29, 2006
"Hundreds, every night," Rudner said as she waved to fans who had lined up in hallway off to the side of the showroom prior to her performance at Harrah's on Friday night. "When I look into an audience, they are not strangers."
John Katsilometes checks in on Rita Rudner's new book, a skewering satire on the Vegas casino scene

Rudner's novel is the set-in-Vegas "Turning the Tables" (Shaye Areheart Books, $23), which is out today and available at bookstores throughout Southern Nevada. We're just getting into an advance copy, but it is clear Rudner's latest effort is a biting satirical look at her adopted home city.

Rita Rudner didn't grow up a football fan. In fact, some of the material in the comedian's nightly stand-up act comes at the expense of her husband, Martin, a devoted NFL fan.

Rudner is the artist in residence at New York-New Yorks Cabaret Theatre, and seems destined for a long run there. She opened the venue more than a year ago and continues to pack in fans.
Shopping with Rita

Rita Rudner needs a new pair of shoes. Black ones. I'm joining the buying expedition to see how the other half shops. We meet at the chichi-est of Las Vegas shopping zions, the corridor at Bellagio, because I figure that's where people like Rita Rudner (wealthy, attractive celebrity types) pick up life's little necessities.
Columnist Kate Maddox: Rudner remains dialed in

Rita Rudner might be closing up shop at the MGM Grand after her performance there tonight, but she'll be back. Come March Rudner will return to the hotel's Cabaret Theatre to greet the Vegas crowds once again. There was some speculation as to whether she would stick around if and when the rumored "Crazy Horse" revue arrived from Paris. The answer appears to be yes.
Rudner hits the mark at MGM Grand's Cabaret Theatre
Friday, June 30, 2000
Rita Rudner is in residence in the MGM Grand Cabaret Theatre, a 399-seat room ideally suited for comedy, especially the quiet, subtle, clever, often hilarious discussions that Rudner keys to various members of the audience. The room was packed the night we were there. We understand this is the norm, which should continue through July 28. She deserves full houses.
