President Donald Trump tweeted recently that Moscow will be “fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming election.” He added: “They will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don’t want Trump!”
That’s despite Russian President Vladimir Putin saying outright in Helsinki that he wanted Trump to win in 2016.
Trump has probably already been told to expect the Democratic Party to make significant gains in the November midterm elections, possibly taking control of Congress. I suspect he’s preparing his supporters to think the elections are fake, rigged or undermined by Russia should Democrats win.
