Mayor Carolyn Goodman gives her annual State of the City address from City Hall on Thursday, January 8, 2015.

The mayors of Las Vegas and Reno are wagering the wearing of their home team colors when Nevada's two university football rivals take to the field on Saturday in Reno.

Mayor Carolyn Goodman of Las Vegas is cheering for UNLV and Mayor Hillary Schieve of Reno is rooting for UNR in the 41st annual matchup.

They agreed the loser has to wear the opponent's team jersey for a city council meeting.

The teams will be battling for the Fremont Cannon and in-state bragging rights.

UNR is 2-2 after winning last week against Buffalo.

UNLV is 1-3 after winning 80-8 last week against Idaho State.

UNR leads the all-time series 24 to 16.

Last season, the Wolf Pack beat the Rebels 49-27 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
