Foothill Dominates Silverado High School Football

Foothill high school football players take the field for their game versus Silverado on Friday, September 4, 2015.

Since losing their season opener in St. George, Utah, the Foothill Falcons (3-1) have been on a tear.

Friday night they kept it going with a 61-32 victory of the winless Shadow Ridge Mustangs (0-5).

If scoring 61 points isn’t impressive enough, the Falcons did it in only three quarters, after not having a single offensive play in the first quarter.

Shadow Ridge started the game with an impressive 80-yard touchdown drive, and followed it up with an onside kick. Devin Smith scored Foothill’s first points on a punt return for a touchdown, and the offense didn’t see the field until well into the second quarter.

Once he finally did see the field, senior quarterback Devon Mueller made up for the lost time.

Mueller threw for four touchdowns for the Falcons, including two to Smith.

“(Mueller) made a lot of good decisions tonight,” said Foothill coach Marty Redmond. “There were some plays where his first read wasn’t there, and he extended it and made plays with his arm.”

The Falcons have outscored their Nevada opponents by a combined score of 153-61.
