Hayden Bollinger passed and rushed for a touchdown today for the Arbor View High football team in a 28-14 win against visiting Desert Oasis in the Sunset Regional semifinals.

Arbor View beat Desert Oasis by 39 points earlier in the season, but coach Dan Barnson knew a second win wouldn’t come easy.

“In the playoffs, everything is different,” Barnson said. “Every (game) script you have from the beginning of the year is thrown into the wind. You start from scratch again and you start from scratch against a good coach (DO’s Brad Talich).”

Bollinger completed 4 of 5 passes for 126 yards, including a 67-yard scoring strike to Deago Stubbs. His first quarter touchdown run gave the Aggies the lead for good.

Curtis Jones rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown for Arbor View on 11 carries, and Andrew Wagner added a 36-yard touchdown run and 85 rushing yards.

Arbor View improves to 10-1 on the season, winning double digit games and multiple playoff games for a second straight season. Next week, it plays six-time defending state champion Bishop Gorman in the Sunset championship game.

“We aren’t going to try to re-invent the wheel,” Barnson said of his strategy against Gorman. “We’ll do what we do.”
