Police arrest 3 in connection with Henderson robbery

Two men and a juvenile were arrested at a Henderson residence Monday in connection with the armed robbery of an auto parts store, police said.

Antonio Sanchez, 24, and Christian Venegas, 18, were arrested on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery, Henderson Police said.

They were booked into the Henderson Detention Center, police said.

The minor, whose name was not released, is being held on the same charges at a juvenile center, police said.

The three are accused of taking car speakers and a stereo receiver from an O’Reilly Auto Parts located at 884 S. Boulder Highway, near Palo Verde Drive, about 12:45 p.m. Monday, police said.

The suspects displayed a gun, and employees later called 911 with a description of a suspect vehicle, police said.

Police located the vehicle at a home in the 1000 block of Brookside Court, and they established a perimeter. The three suspects exited the residence peacefully, police said.

Police believed an additional suspect might be in the home and attempted to make contact, Henderson Police spokeswoman Michelle French said.

Nearby residents were asked to stay in their homes but were not evacuated, and when SWAT served a search warrant, no additional suspect was found, she said.

A gun believed to have been used in the robbery and the stolen items were discovered in the home, police said.

East Warm Springs Road was closed between Center Street and Palo Verde Drive during the incident, French said.
