A scheduled vote by the Senate Finance Committee on Gov. Brian Sandoval’s plan to raise taxes by $483 million during the next two years has been delayed.
Committee Chairman Sen. Michael Roberson, R-Las Vegas, said Thursday a vote would be taken Friday on Senate Bill 252. But the vote was delayed until Tuesday. A Republican spokeswoman said Minority Leader Aaron Ford, D-Las Vegas, could not make the meeting.
Roberson wanted the full seven members present when the first test vote is taken. The bill calls for a graduated scale license fee. The tax would range from $400 to $2.5 million a year, depending on a company's gross revenue and how it is categorized.
There are also other tax plans being considered by the Legislature.
