letter to the editor:

How else will GOP obstruct Obama?

Earlier this month, 47 Republican senators signed and sent a letter to Iran stating that no matter what the government agrees to, we can subsequently take it off the table. Several senators have since expressed regret for signing the letter. Sen. John McCain explained that signing the letter was a rapid process because everyone was trying to get out of town because of an impending snowstorm.

That sounds reasonable. Of course escaping weather conditions in D.C. far outweighs working out an agreement with Iran over nuclear facilities.

European allies, who are part of the Iran negotiations, have condemned the letter as counterproductive, but Sen. Rand Paul said the letter was “intended to strengthen the president’s hand.” Wow! Thanks for the help.

President Barack Obama told reporters that the lawmakers seem to want to make common cause with the hardliners in Iran. What else will Republicans risk in order to obstruct Obama’s agenda?
