Principal accused of improperly touching 2 students

A high school principal in Tonopah was arrested last week after accusations he inappropriately touched two students, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office and court records.

Tonopah High School Principal Alvin “Al” Eiseman, 57, was arrested March 5 on counts of open and gross lewdness and child abuse/neglect, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were called Feb. 27 to the high school to discuss an incident they say took place two days earlier, the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

A female juvenile alleged Eiseman touched her breast, and another juvenile reported being hit in the arm by Eiseman, the Sheriff’s Department reported.

Eiseman has not been formally charged, according to the Tonopah Justice Court.

He was booked into the Tonopah Detention Facility without incident and was released after a $10,500 bail bond was posted, officials said.

He has been removed from his position with the Nye County School District, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation, the district said.

The district had no further comment, calling the arrest a “personnel matter.”

According to the Tonopah High School website, Eiseman has worked for the district since 2008.
