Metro Police have identified a man arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after a rollover crash early this morning killed two women at a busy southeast valley intersection.

Seong Mo Lee, 22, was arrested on two counts of felony DUI-death and booked into the Clark County jail, officials said.

Police received a report about 1:30 a.m. of a crash at Boulder Highway and Russell Road, where a silver 2014 Nissan Versa was struck by a white 2014 Mercedes Benz E350, according to a Metro news release.

The Nissan was headed north in the left turn lane of Boulder Highway and tried to make a U-turn when the southbound Mercedes struck it, causing the Nissan to roll onto its roof, police said.

The Mercedes demolished the Nissan, pushing it more than 100 yards down Boulder Highway.

Fire crews were called to the scene to extract the driver and passenger of the Nissan from the damaged car, but before crews arrived, officials determined both women had died, Lt. Robert Smith said.

Lee suffered minor injuries, and a witness told police he was driving “extremely fast,” Smith said.

He is expected to appear in court at 7:30 a.m. Friday.

The names of the women will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office once next of kin is notified.

These are the 17th and 18th reported traffic deaths in Metro's jurisdiction this year, police said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
