Police: Suspected gunman in triple slaying shot himself

Updated Wednesday, March 4, 2015 | 3:10 p.m.

A 21-year-old man chased his wife and two other people from an apartment Tuesday night after a domestic disturbance, fatally shooting all three before turning the gun on himself, Metro Police said.

The suspected gunman was at University Medical Center in extremely critical condition and was not expected to survive, authorities said.

The victims were the man's 33-year-old wife, an 18-year-old woman believed to be her stepdaughter, and the younger woman's 21-year-old boyfriend, police said.

Police received reports about 10:15 p.m. of a domestic disturbance and gunshots at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of South Fort Apache Road.

Officers found a man and two women on a walkway suffering multiple gunshot wounds, police said. One of the women was dead and the other two victims were taken to University Medical Center, where they both died, police said.

The suspected gunman was found inside an apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Just before the shooting, there apparently was a domestic disturbance between the suspect and at least one of the other people, police said. The victims ran from the apartment followed by the suspect, and multiple gunshots were reported, police said.

The suspect then returned to the apartment, where he was later found, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the names of any of the shooting victims.
