Fetuses found in hospital linens at Henderson laundry facility

The bodies of twin fetuses were found in a shipment of linens at a Henderson commercial laundry facility today, a city spokeswoman said.

Police responded about 10 a.m. to Angelica Corp., a laundry facility for medical linen at 1080 Mary Crest Road, near Gibson Road and American Pacific Drive, where workers discovered the fetuses within a shipment of linens that was sent to be cleaned, Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

It was determined the shipment came from Spring Valley Hospital, she said.

According to a hospital statement, the patient suffered a miscarriage at another location and brought the already deceased, 4-month-old fetuses wrapped in linen to the hospital via ambulance.

"We are currently reviewing the situation to determine what occurred," the statement said. "However, the remains are currently in the hospital’s possession, and we are working with the family at this time."

The Clark County Coroner's Office was called to investigate, but police detectives are treating the incident as an accident.
