Skateboarder, 15, clinging to car driven by mom injured in fall

A teen was critically injured Wednesday when he fell off a skateboard as he held on to a moving car driven by his mother, Metro Police said.

The accident happened about 7:25 p.m. on Alta Drive, west of Norwood Lane, as the 15-year-old was hanging on to the driver’s door of the 2009 Nissan Sentra, police said. He lost control and fell, police said.

The teen’s mother, Sherry Ranae Williams-Lamb, 46, of Las Vegas pulled over and rendered aid to her son, police said. He was taken to University Medical Center.

Police did not indicate how fast the car was going.

Neither Williams-Lamb nor a 14-year-old girl in the car were injured, police said.

Police said Williams-Lamb was not impaired, and the accident is under investigation.
