The writer of the Jan. 8 letter “Curing diseases bad for economy?” wondered whether medical employees could lose their jobs if there were cures for diseases. I’ve always wondered the same thing if crime ceased to exist.
What if there were no more need for police, lawyers, judges, prison guards, probation officers, etc.? I guess crime does pay.
