A longtime Nevada Assembly Democrat says he's considered leaving his party's caucus and going independent.

Las Vegas Assemblyman Harvey Munford first told the Reno Gazette-Journal in December that he was considering caucusing with Republicans when the legislative session begins due to what he sees as disrespect from Democratic leadership.

Munford said Monday that he still hasn't made up his mind and is considering not caucusing with either party.

The 74-year-old said he might sit out in the chamber "and tell them all to go to hell."

Minority leader Marilyn Kirkpatrick said she hasn't heard from Munford about leaving the caucus and expects him to join with other Democrats when the legislative session begins.

Munford ran unopposed for his sixth Assembly term and is barred by term limits from running again.
