An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the assault and attempted kidnapping of an 18-year-old woman in the parking lot of the Galleria at Sunset mall, Henderson Police said today.
At about 3 p.m. Thursday, the man, Toyanell Kuykendall, approached the woman with a knife as she was leaving the mall, police said. Kuykendall walked the woman a short distance through the parking lot before she was able to escape unharmed after a struggle.
Henderson Police searched the area for Kuykendall and took him into custody at about 5:30 p.m. after a mall employee reported seeing him on the second floor of the mall.
Kuykendall is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and second-degree kidnapping.
He is being held at the Henderson Detention Center on $350,000 bail.
