Pedestrian, 78, seriously injured in hit-and-run on Flamingo

Metro Police are investigating an early morning hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 78-year-old man.

At 12:24 a.m. Saturday, a small, dark, four-door sedan traveling west on Flamingo Road, just east of Pecos Road, struck the pedestrian as he was crossing Flamingo from the south side to the north side, police said.

The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk, police said.

After striking the pedestrian, the sedan fled east on Flamingo before traveling north on Eastern Avenue, police said.

Police said witnesses followed the sedan to Eastern and were able to get a possible license plate number.

Anyone with information is urged to call Metro's Accident Investigation Section at (702) 828-8189 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
