Fatal crash
One person is dead after a two-car crash at an intersection in the east valley this afternoon, Metro Police said.
Police received a report of an accident with injury just before 4 p.m. at Sahara Avenue and Sloan Lane, Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.
The driver of one car, a 19-year-old man, was killed, she said.
The driver of the other car, a woman in her 30s, was not injured, Yatomi said.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, she said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the intersection will be closed for about two to three hours as Metro's Fatal Detail investigates, Yatomi said.
