Firefighters rescue dogs from Mesquite house fire

Firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning house in Mesquite Monday evening.

The fire started about 5 p.m. outside the house near Foxglove Lane and Mimosa Way and spread into the kitchen, Mesquite Fire & Rescue officials said.

The two Rottweiler dogs looked “very scared” when firefighters entered the home, officials said. The animals were taken outside and were not harmed.

No one else was inside.

The fire was extinguished and did not spread beyond the kitchen.
