Metro Police took two people into custody after a bank robbery and short vehicle chase this morning, authorities said.
Police were alerted about 8:45 a.m. today to a robbery at a bank in the 10000 block of West Charleston Avenue, Metro Officer Laura Meltzer said.
Officers tracked a suspect vehicle to the area of Washington Avenue and Bruce Street, where they attempted to stop the vehicle, she said. After a short chase, the vehicle crashed near Bruce and Searles Avenue, she said.
One person in the vehicle was taken into custody about 9:15 a.m., Meltzer said.
Police searched vacant houses in the area of Harris Avenue and 20th Street for a second suspect, she said. That person was taken into custody about 10 a.m., she said.
