Fire destroys North Las Vegas house, displacing resident

Fire

A fire that gutted a North Las Vegas house and motor home early this morning displaced one person and caused about $240,000 in damage, officials said.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Crews received multiple calls about 1:25 a.m. of a motor home fire in the 2200 block of Revere Street, near Martin Luther King and Lake Mead boulevards, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

Firefighters who arrived on scene saw fire and smoke coming from a motor home parked in the driveway and from the single-story house, officials said.

The North Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews completely contained the fire in about 50 minutes, officials said.

No other structures sustained damage, officials said.

Investigators believe the fire began in the engine compartment of the motor home and determined it was an accidental mechanical fire, the North Las Vegas Fire Department said.

The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada will help one man who was at home during the fire and has been displaced, the department said.
