Website’s Valentine’s Day analysis doesn’t think highly of North Las Vegas

A scarcity of jewelry stores, florists and attractions has left North Las Vegas as the third-worst city in the nation to spend Valentine's Day, according to a recent study by Wallethub.com.

It could've been worse. The city could've ended up as unromantic as No. 100, Detroit.

Henderson didn't fare much better, ranking 81st.

The study, which examined 100 of the most populated cities in the country, determined rankings based on 15 metrics, including number of Valentine's Day activities and gift accessibility.

North Las Vegas ranked last in the categories for number of florists and jewelry stores per capita, joining the likes of Henderson, which ranked 98 in the florist category, and Anaheim, Calif., which ranked 98th in the jewelry store category.

Las Vegas ranked 28th overall in the study, losing ground to Albuquerque, N.M., and Madison, Wis., which ranked 26th and 27th, respectively. Reno was No. 15.

Las Vegas was also ranked 56th in average price per Valentine's Day party ticket.

Other, more loving cities on the list include San Francisco, which was ranked No. 1, and Seattle, which was ranked No. 2.
