Updated Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 | 3:34 p.m.

A brief power outage today affected about 17,000 NV Energy customers and left some people stuck in elevators, according to the company and Las Vegas fire department.

A cluster of outages was reported west of Interstate 15 near West Sahara Avenue beginning about 1:50 p.m., according to the company’s Outage Center.

The outage was affecting about 17,000 customers at 2:10 p.m., but power to all customers was restored by about 3 p.m., the NV Energy website said.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue tweeted that no damage or injuries were reported as a result of the outage, though crews received calls of people stuck in elevators at the College of Southern Nevada and elsewhere.

The cause of the outage was under investigation.
