This home at 1424 Canyon Rose Way caught fire Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.

A fire that broke out in a house near Torrey Pines and Vegas drives late Monday caused an estimated $90,000 in damage and displaced six people, officials said.

Crews received multiple calls about 10:20 p.m. of fire coming out of an upstairs window at 1424 Canyon Rose Way, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said in a statement.

Firefighters, who could see the smoke in the air while leaving their stations, arrived on scene and witnessed heavy flames coming out of the window, he said.

The occupants escaped the house without injury, and crews had the fire out within 10 minutes of entering the home, he said.

One of the two teens living in the room told officials he walked in and noticed the fire on a bedside table that was supporting a lamp, Szymanski said.

The fire destroyed the bedroom and caused heat and smoke damage upstairs, Szymanski said. Downstairs sustained water damage and smelled of smoke, he said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined due to the extent of the damage, he said.

The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada responded to aid the displaced residents.
