Henderson Police seek clues in cold-case slaying

Henderson Police are asking for the public’s help to solve a slaying as the one-year anniversary of the victim’s death approaches.

William L. Milan was 77 when his son found him on Feb. 20 on the kitchen floor of his home in the 100 block of Willow Glen Court, near Wigwam and Green Valley parkways, police said.

His son and paramedics were unable to resuscitate Milan.

The cause of death was listed by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as hypertension and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, which involves a plaque buildup in the arteries. Other significant contributing factors, however, included restraint by an assailant, renal failure and dehydration, according to the Coroner’s Office.

The office also found Milan had been administered gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, a depressant sometimes used to treat sleep disorders.

The drug rose to popularity illicitly for its use as a date-rape drug, accord to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Milan’s death was ruled a homicide.

“For the safety of our community and the sanctity of human life, we continue to seek justice in this murder investigation,” Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers said in a news release. “The case will remain open until a suspect is identified, charged and arrested.”

Detectives are asking anyone with additional information to call Henderson Police at 702-267-4750. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at crimestoppersofnv.com.
